The Indian parent in me
The Indian Parent – Just one generation apart !!
One thought crossed my mind and I got down to penning it here. Over the past 30 years or so, I have noticed at least two sets of parents from close quarters. One, my parents. And the second, ourselves (or let me say, myself). There are a bunch of things contrasting about these two contiguous generations of parents – socio-economic context, purchasing power, etc,. etc,. However, I find myself particularly fascinated about one specific contrast :
Hungry and Burnt : Let me start with the conclusion or the inference that I hold in my head. If I were to name or brand these two generations, I would call my parents the ‘hungry parents’ and myself the ‘burnt parent’. Let me explain…… Read more
