Marathas, Saurashtrians in Central Tamil Nadu…..

There has been a conversation or two during our childhood that I recall overhearing. I guess I was too young (or too busy) to participate. The conversation was around the story of how did our family of priests move from Kerala to a village in deep Rayalaseema in the contemporary Andhra Pradesh.  The one bullet summary answer that I recall from those conversation between the elders (Grandparents / Uncles etc.,) was that our ancestors were among the bunch of priests who migrated during the Krishna Devaraya, one of the well-known rulers of Vijayanagara Dynasty.  Not a bad story at all….right ???

KK - An extraordinary man

Prof KK Mehta or KK as we call him at CL gave a pleasant surprise yesterday at the Annual Srijan celebrations in Delhi. Srijan, for the initiated readers here, is our internal celebrations of success, CL team and the families, our aspirations etc,. In essence, it is about the CL people.

During these winter months when outdoor celebrations right through the day becomes a matter of joy, the annual Srijan (Sri = Auspicious; Jan = birth; Srijan = An occasion of arrival of the auspicious) is hosted by the HR team of CL. Read more

The caste system in education

I guess human beings have a compelling need for hierarchy. Unless one is deeply conscious of this fallibility, falling prey to some kind of caste system (defined earlier or self-defined) happens, unwittingly.
