Indus World University – The countdown begins

The much awaited news has trickled in. The state Government of Rajasthan has issued the ‘Letter of Intent’ to CL to start ‘Indus World University’.

 The Flashback :

The motivation to start CL came from an entrepreneurial location or perspective that the current higher education system did not look at life from the perspective of the learner or the student.  The university (Delhi Univ, to be specific for me) was busy delivering degree programs which, of course, must have been consistent with the vision and goals of the builders of that university.

As students, we realized that we had to look else where for help to get to our own life goals – whether it meant going to an IIM or higher education abroad or even placement into the corporate sector. That was the trigger for launching a project called ‘Career Launcher’ over 14 years ago.

Life comes a full circle :

Life seems to have come a full circle now.  It is, indeed, a matter of immense joy to me at a personal level.  I am also sure that this is a matter of immense pride to every CL-ite, IWSian and IWSBian who have been at it with deep amount of passion, commitment and adherence to ROOHI.

We are aware that IWSB is growing her roots slowly but surely.  We will move into our own campus in the next few weeks. We visualize our Greater Noida campus evolving into a thriving NCR campus for ourselves at IWU even as the main campus and project in Rajasthan takes shape over the next few years.

The Responsibility is on us, now :

CL has moved long enough and far enough to become the ‘system’ from being the critiques of the system.   In a way, this is a sweet revenge that nature has taken on me and us.  We have been bitter critiques of the system for along time now.  We, now, have to bear the responsibility of being progressive and relevant enough to the society.

Of course, our benchmarks would be much higher. We have a conception of our dream university. We have many qualitative and quantitative benchmarks that we have carried in our minds and thoughts for many years now. We have many role models to emulate and many more to be created for others. We have a long way to go before we hang our boots.

There is unlimited goodness in this world :

Internally, we were having a chuckle at how we are able to scoff back at the wise people ever so often.  We have heard innumerable stories about the corruption in the Indian system. The coming through of IWU is just another testimony that honest guys have a long way to go unhindered in any world.  Our walk in this rather mission critical project has been a dream run from the perspective of upholding our core values. We have scoffed back at those who have said that – It is impossible to get an University approval without supplying suitcases appropriately filled.  We will go to our graves without learning that art.  Of course, we will have done enough for people to call us to do more meaningful work in their geographies.  Isn’t that a good reputation to build ?

For now, it is time to order for more adrenaline and get back to work !

    Congratulations and Best Wishes!!

This would be very encouraging step in the Education Industry where more private institutions having core values of honesty and dedication shall put in more efforts to realise their dreams as well.

Would be my pleasure to be of any assistance for further acceleration of growth of CL.

    Regards
    Shishir

    Dear Mr. Satya,
Delighted to read the news on the blog, I am sure that private entrepreneurs like you, would certainly bring the most awaited quality and seriousness to the Education Industry. I personally feel higher education ( not only training ) requires understanding of business and industry links. Higher education is a business and BUSINESS is not the business of Government. Private entrepreneurs willing to provide right education and contribute to the national building and taking the GER to a satisfactory level will only grow.

I am sure that your entrepreneurial spirits will spire many other souls to pursue business in education industry. Such news gives me satisfaction and motivation today that I made a right decision to join Education industry before 10 years.

    Regards
    Lokesh Mittal
